Honorary Chair's Welcome
Memory is one of the key themes in the new Art Gallery of Ontario. Our new Canadian galleries explore how memory addresses the past and shapes the present in works by First Nations and Inuit artists. The collection, to be unveiled when the AGO opens November 14, communicates the complexity and diversity of art through many voices, keeping memory alive, making it impossible to forget. Art is a channel both to the past, and to the future.
For the last 20 years, Casey House has been, and continues to be, a place where no one is forgotten, a link between the past and the future. Its client-focused, holistic approach ensures that men and women living with HIV/AIDS are cared for compassionately and with utmost respect and dignity. Every day, countless volunteers dedicate their time creating a home rooted in understanding and filled with love.
This evening marks the 15th anniversary for Art with Heart and this catalogue showcases several emerging artists. Art with Heart brings art and people together. It is our responsibility and our privilege to ensure the continued work of Casey House, so do your part... bid first, and often.
Like each swatch of fabric on a quilt, we are all connected. Make tonight's bidding memorable. Be a part of our collective history.
