Artist Statement

Imagery is this work is derived from Chinese restaurant match-book covers and Meissen porcelain. The title comes from the name of the Chinese restaurant in the 1983 film, “A Christmas Story” where the American family are having Christmas dinner after their turkey was eaten by neighbourhood dogs. Instead of turkey, the restaurant serves them Peking duck, which is then named ‘Chinese turkey’.
