Lot 13

Stefan Berg is a Toronto-based artist whose work explores architecture, urban landscapes, and the character of the built environment. The work on offer in this year’s Art With Heart depicts the National Ballet School on Jarvis Street in Toronto. The Japanese architectural influence of the building is further emphasized through the artist’s use of the print medium – in this case, Berg has created an original linocut with a varied edition of ten monotypes.

A graduate of OCAD University, Berg has exhibited widely across Canada, the United States, and Europe, and his work is held in notable private and institutional collections, including the City of Toronto, Osgoode Hall Law Society of Upper Canada, and ERA Architects. In 2026, Berg was awarded an Elizabeth Greenshields Grant, and in 2024 received a Chalmers Art Fellowship. His work has also been featured in publications including The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, and Telegram Journal.
