Emilie Fantuz is a painter whose work explores perception, light, and the shifting relationship between observation and memory. Blue Studio Window explores the artist’s studio window as a threshold, where inside and outside blur together through light and reflection. Prismatic light fractures across the glass, dissolving boundaries and layering the familiar into something shifting and uncertain. The painting focuses on the act of looking, holding a moment where the visible world begins to break into layered, unstable images. Fantuz is drawn to the way light transforms perception, turning an ordinary window into a site of wonder and perceptual instability, where presence and reflection become impossible to separate.

Fantuz holds an MFA from Emily Carr University of Art and Design and has exhibited throughout Canada, earning recognition for her luminous paintings that transform everyday scenes into contemplative studies of seeing.
