Lot 44

Anne Griffiths’ studio practice is motivated by the expression of landscape through an intuitive knotting of colour and form. Through gestural line work and an energetic palette, Griffiths creates dynamic spatial relationships and poetic interpretations of places visited and later recalled in memory. She is interested in how we carry the feeling of a place with us, and how that energy can be transformed through abstraction while remaining rooted in the traditions of landscape painting.

Based in Victoria, British Columbia, Griffiths studied painting at Emily Carr University and earned a diploma in Design and Illustration from Capilano University. Her work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions and is represented in private, corporate, and institutional collections throughout North America and Europe.
