Artist Statement
Spring Tide is part of a body of work that is a culmination of over three decades of artistic effort to capture the landscape around Hank Bull’s cabin in Storm Bay, up the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia. The artist acknowledges these pictures were made with respect on the swiya territory of the shíshálh Nation. They were painted outdoors, mostly during the summer months, over a period of 35 years. The artist thanks the Storm Bay people for their support and collaboration.
