In early 2021 Michael Pszczonak’s young son asked him “what colour is the window”? As a painter, Pszczonak did not know how to answer since, of course, the window is clear, but also reflective of so much more, both interior and exterior spaces. His son’s innocent inquiry led to a year-long study in painting his own reflection captured in the front window of his home.
In the image we see both worlds – Pszczonak’s turquoise kitchen and bookshelf behind him as well as the street scape outside.
